Why I’m Looking for the Right Home for Weekly Fire Shows in the Upper Florida Keys
Over the years, I’ve had guests tip me $100 and tell me how much they appreciated not just the fire, but the style, musicality, and level of performance I bring to each show. I’ve had couples reach out months — even years — later and say, “We saw you perform and knew we wanted you at our wedding.” Those moments mean everything to me, because they remind me that live performance isn’t just something people watch — it becomes part of their vacation memory, part of their love story, part of why they chose to celebrate here in the Florida Keys. For a long time, I performed regularly at restaurants and resorts throughout the Keys, and I truly miss that connection with both locals and visitors. I also know how much our restaurant scene relies on live music, which is absolutely essential to the island vibe. What we don’t always have as much of is variety in live performance experiences that guests of all ages can enjoy during dinner and sunset hours — something visually exciting, family-friendly, and still relaxed enough to fit naturally into the evening. That’s why I’m currently looking for the right Upper Florida Keys restaurant or waterfront venue to feature a weekly Saturday fire show during high season. Not just any place — the right home for this kind of experience. 🔥 What the Show Is Like This isn’t a long stage production or something that stops the whole restaurant. The format is designed specifically for dining environments: • Short, impactful 10–15 minute feature sets • Fire breathing and choreographed fire dance • Performed at natural moments during dinner or sunset service • Appropriate for mixed-age audiences and destination guests • Meant to enhance the atmosphere, not overpower it It creates that shared “wow” moment that people talk about at the table, take photos of, and remember long after their trip is over. 🌴 Why Public Weekly Shows Matter to Me Public performances are important for me for a few reasons. They keep me connected to the community and to visitors who may not be attending private events or weddings. They give me direct feedback from guests, which helps me continue refining and evolving my performances. And very honestly — many of my private bookings over the years started because someone saw me perform at a restaurant and wanted that same feeling at their own celebration. When people tip after a show, that feedback is real and immediate. It tells me the performance connected, and I’m willing to structure this opportunity around that — offering a lower guaranteed base with tipping encouraged — because I believe in what I bring to the table and how guests respond to it. What matters most to me is finding a venue where the show truly fits and where guests are already coming out to enjoy their evenings. 📣 Promoting the Venue & Encouraging Guest Feedback For whichever venue becomes the home of this weekly show, I’ll also be doing my part to help guests connect with the restaurant beyond the night of the performance. • I’ll link directly to the venue’s TripAdvisor page to encourage guest reviews. • I’ll promote the venue across my social media platforms • I’ll list the show on my Upcoming Events page so guests can plan their visit As someone who works closely with weddings and events, I know how much positive guest feedback matters — not just for reputation, but for long-term success. 🌴 What I’m Looking For I’m hoping to connect with an established Upper Keys restaurant or waterfront venue that has: • Outdoor space appropriate for fire performance • Strong Saturday evening guest flow during high season • A team that values creating memorable guest experiences • Interest in a consistent seasonal feature and can handle the increase of tables this show may attract This isn’t about placing a show anywhere. It’s about placing it where it truly belongs and where it can become part of the guest experience week after week. 🔒 Professional Safety & Insurance Because I work with fire, safety is never an afterthought for me. Both myself and my dedicated fire safety partner are fully insured, and I maintain an impeccable safety record with over a decade of professional fire performance in the Florida Keys. Every venue is assessed individually, safety zones are respected, and each show is adapted to fit the space responsibly. My goal has always been to bring beauty and excitement to events while keeping guests, staff, and property safe. 🌴 Let’s Start the Conversation If you own, manage, or work at a venue that feels like the right fit — or if there’s a restaurant you’d love to see host a weekly fire show — I’d love to hear from you. You can schedule a planning call using the link at the top of this page, message me directly, or share this post with someone in the Upper Keys hospitality community. I’m excited to see where this next chapter leads and to reconnect with guests in the way that first made me fall in love with performing here in the Florida Keys. — Daisy Ellis aka Barefoot Daisy Islamorada Barefoot Fire Dance
